Death
If you’re reading this page because I’ve died, I’m sorry for your loss. Let me help make this process a little easier.
Digital Access
Apple Legacy Contacts - I’ve set up Legacy Contacts through Apple, which will grant access to my Apple account, iCloud data, photos, and other important digital information. If you’re designated as a legacy contact, Apple will guide you through the access process.
For other accounts and passwords, my designated legacy contacts will have the necessary access through this system.
Final Wishes
Body Disposition: I want my body to be composted through natural organic reduction (human composting). This is legal in several states and is an environmentally sustainable alternative to burial or cremation.
Resources:
- Recompose (Washington)
- Return Home (Washington)
- Earth Funeral (California, Colorado)
Please honor this wish if legally and practically possible in your location. If not available, cremation is an acceptable alternative.
A Message to Those I Leave Behind
Death is weird, isn’t it? One day you’re here complaining about software updates and arguing about the best way to organize a pantry, and the next you’re… well, compost apparently.
I hope I lived in a way that made your life a little better, a little brighter, or at least occasionally made you laugh. If I failed at that, I’m sorry - but also, it’s too late for me to do anything about it now, so maybe just remember the good parts and conveniently forget the rest?
Take care of each other. Be kind. Question authority but respect people. Keep learning. Don’t take life too seriously, but take your responsibilities seriously. And for the love of everything holy, back up your data.
If you’re sad, that’s okay. Grief is love with nowhere to go. But don’t stay sad forever - I wouldn’t want that. Laugh at something ridiculous. Eat something delicious. Listen to good music. Watch a stupid movie. Live your life fully.
And hey, if you need a good cry, just remember: I’ll never have to sit through another Zoom meeting, deal with another printer jam, or watch another unnecessary reboot of a beloved franchise. In that sense, I’ve won.
Thank you for being part of my life. It meant more than I probably said often enough.
Now go do something that makes you happy. I insist.
