I’m not perfect, and I’m definitely not going to pretend otherwise. But I do try to make choices that are a little kinder to the planet where I can. Here’s where I’m at.

🥦 Food

I eat a flexitarian diet — mostly plant-based, with meat occasionally rather than daily. I also try to buy local produce regularly, which is better for the environment and usually just tastes better.

💡 Home Energy

Nothing dramatic here, but the small stuff adds up. I’ve switched to LED lighting throughout the house and use a smart thermostat to avoid heating or cooling an empty home. Easy wins.

🛍️ Consumption & Shopping

This is probably where I put in the most effort:

  • No fast fashion — I avoid it altogether.
  • Thrift first — I shop secondhand when I can.
  • Repair before replace — if something breaks, I try to fix it before buying new.
  • Minimal packaging — I factor this in when making purchasing decisions.
  • Recyclops — I pay for Recyclops to make sure as much of my waste gets recycled as possible, including things my curbside pickup won’t take.

🚗 Transportation

Okay, this is my weak spot. I’ll be real — I’m not doing great here yet. But my next vehicle purchase (coming in the next year or two) will be a hybrid or EV. Baby steps.
