Shortcuts
A collection of Apple Shortcuts I’ve built. Most of them lean heavily on existing material — I’ve tried to credit sources where they apply.
Protest Mode
Walks through key security steps before and during a protest, based on the EFF’s Surveillance Self-Defense guide for attending protests. When the moment calls for it, it’s good to have a checklist that doesn’t require you to remember anything.
Random Prayers
Surfaces a random classic prayer — the Lord’s Prayer, the Serenity Prayer, the Prayer of St. Francis, and others in that vein. I built this for moments when I want to pray but my brain won’t cooperate.
Random Dad Jokes
Fetches a random dad joke via icanhazdadjoke.com. I am not sorry.
Uncle Iroh Quotes
Delivers a random piece of wisdom from the greatest character in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Sourced from various fan wikis and quote archives. For when you need to hear “Sharing tea with a fascinating stranger is one of life’s true delights” at a random moment in your day.
Excuse Generator
Generates a randomized excuse for getting out of a conversation, canceling plans, or procrastinating. Inspired by Matt Shirley’s chart series on exactly those topics: getting out of a conversation, canceling plans, and procrastination.
Random Picsum Wallpaper
Sets a random photo as your wallpaper, pulled from Picsum Photos — a free placeholder/random image service. Good for when you want your lock screen to surprise you.
Reddit Wallpaper Randomizer
Pulls a random image from a wallpaper subreddit and sets it as your wallpaper. Most of the actual Shortcuts logic here was written by Claude — I described what I wanted and it did the heavy lifting.
